Dear Lilly,

Congratulations! The Admission Committee joins me in the most rewarding part of my job—offering you admission to Stanford University and inviting you to join our Class of 2017.

You have set yourself apart, and we are impressed and inspired by your passion, determination and accomplishments. We acknowledge and celebrate all you have worked for with the good news this letter brings.

At Stanford you join a diverse, joyful and collaborative campus community with a shared determination to change the world. Indeed, Leland and Jane Stanford founded the University “to promote the public welfare by exercising an influence on behalf of humanity and civilization.” That influence begins with an academic community committed to mastering the known and developing an intuitive capacity to imagine the unknown. You are part of something larger than yourself at Stanford, and your unique perspective will contribute to this extraordinary community.

Most importantly, Stanford is a place to grow and begin to define your place in the world.

The next step is to visit admit.stanford.edu. Connect with other admitted students and begin to explore Stanford's opportunities. Next week you will receive a packet of information that includes instructions for confirming your enrollment and an invitation to attend Admit Weekend 2013, Thursday–Saturday, April 25–27. You may respond to our admission offer at any time on or before May 1, 2013.

As you continue through your senior year, do not initiate changes to your course schedule without contacting us first. In addition, if you submitted predicted scores for exams such as the International Baccalaureate, we require the actual scores once you receive your results. Your admission is contingent upon strong academic performance in the program of study you presented in your application including your final IB results.

We are thrilled to offer you admission and hope that you will join us. Welcome to the Stanford family.

Sincerely,
Richard H. Shaw

  1. Congratulation to LILLY for this achievement ,Seychellois are proud of you,we could not have a better ambassador as you.

The Butcher must be feeling jealous for it not him or one of his under qualified ilks.Dito,To self-named Proffessor R.PAYET.

Your achievement would surely inspire many hard working youths.

  2. Again this acceptance is an acievement of great merit and demonstrated ability by a Seychelloise Rasin.

Free of the tyranny of BUTCHER and company we can excel in the world and in Seychelles.

We congratulate SFP Ambassador Lillian Gill for her exceptional achievement and we also thank her in her efforts to seek recognition of the Seychellois Rasin as an indigenous people before the United Nations in New York.

May God Bless All Freedom Loving Seychellois!

  11. This blog will be pensioned off by Parti Lepep in 2013.

  12. Pession should be abolish for MPs and Pp stooges. What Mps and pp ilks have voted for thmselves as pension (annaully) exceed what most seychellois collect in retirement in their whole lives. In fact no ordinary workers earn what an Mps earn annaully in their whole lives.

As public servants ,Mps cannot and should pocket even more than a CEO in a successful private company nor should they earn more than the average ordinary Seychellois.

Mps should lead by example ,especailly in this economic crsis whereby ordinary Seychellois are being asked regualrly to make more sacrifice for a situation they did not created.

If there is a pension(that is it is not cancelled and stop)at least the age at which a aprliamentary pensions should be determined(62-65 yrs old)and should be made more likely than that of ordinary workers.

Mps should not be riding off the back of hard working Seychellois.

  13. Sakr el-Materi is in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He was arrested in Seychelles before escaping once again from Tunisian justice looking for him for corruption and embezzlement. Ben Ali’s son in law is very lucky and has influential friends. While the Tunisian justice minister hastily announced el-Materi’s arrest in Seychelles on 14 December and his expected extradition to Tunisia, where the accused is wanted for embezzlement of public funds, the ex-tycoon managed once again to slip through the net. The Saudi authorities intervened and ordered the Seychellois authorities to release el-Materi so that he could return to Jeddah on his private jet. In fact, he was arrested only because his diplomatic passport, which he took with him when the Ben Alis fled, was not valid any longer. More failure for Tunisia which has already requested in vain his extradition from Qatar where el-Materi took refuge after the revolution. But after the Four Seasons of Doha and the beaches of Seychelles, not sure he will enjoy the Saudi hospitality for long.

  14. The new Tunisian government seem to be sure the PP thugtocrats are hiding a Tunisian Human rights abuser El-Matiri in Seychelles.Could be now that they are a very good friend with Us,Europe etc.. they have been tipped off by those countries .Sooner than later we will know if the friend of Ex-dictator Ben Ali is somewhere hiding in our country under the protection of PP government.

Pp will have to answer questions should it is encovered that this criminal is hiding here and this rogue governement protect him.

Is he at Barbaron?La Misere? On Desroches?Sooner than later he will be detected.

  15. Secretary of State Barry Faure, in the Foreign Ministry should answer and explain clearly what happened to el-Materi and where he is. If you consider yourself in the caliber of Mrs. Hilary Clinton, speak out man!

  16. Party opposition should get together and stop the building of any more Mosque in the Seychelles. Such a small country and today I heard that there will be more cutting of trees to build Mosque, WTF?

We do not need alkaida, talaban or Sharia law in Seychelles, if it continues like this we will lose our tradition to these Arabs morons. Do something about it before it is too late.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The person who could have save Seychelles died a long time ago; and the one who can now save Seychelles is not born yet.
Morons after morons will try, but only with one thing in mind 'to enrich themselves and families.' So you can forget about change in Seychelles, it will never happen.

    ReplyDelete
  18. This is not true, Gill and Volcere are bursting balls to make change happen, at least give credit where credit is due.

  30. who dare enough to shot the killer who kidnapped our country? Who dare enough to stand on our turf and fight for freedom?
Another has almost gone by, and some of us are still eating from the bin while some are having a lavish life style! Will we ever see justice, are all of those who call themselves party opposition same crooks with different name? A question that keeps on playing on my mind; who to trust? I have done my own investigation of things and it does not look good. I pray no more killing, no more abuse, no more hatred, no more blood, no more abandons, no more ruthless, no more of anything that involves reign of hatred.Only the power of love, respect, courage, power of lightness, and dignity can surpass the darkness; no matter if you have a whole army or yourself, including the Devil... You're no match the power of lightness. How do you think we felt when we were suffering because of your insidious actions.Justice will be served for you evil sins.

It's time for you to feel the debts of Hell. And the rest of us that loves lightness, love, and merciful beings.
When it comes to the problems you're trying to throw at us and trying to think that you're the only ones who's having that problem, we're not interested; especially after all the pain and suffering you've done put us through in order to survive.

Justice and freedom will come from God alone.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Sooner or later JAM & FAR will pay for their sins, and so will all of those who has accepted bribe while others are suffering.

And those who insults those who wanted freedom for all, who died in order to bring freedom will also face the judge who happens to be God himself, the light, the love, the sincerity of mankind. We were meant to be working together to create change, a better life for our country, welfare of the people. Not to beat each other with insults of bitterness. No one’s life is perfect; however when it comes to your own and your own flesh and blood you hid in the closet. No one can hide from the power of God, that right not even you who are reading this!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Just a little advice to all those who wants change in our country; darkness and devilish insults, is not the way to go..all you need is common sense , add it with kindness and understanding and the love of God.If your heart is full of bitterness you will only spit out toxic and how the hell you think this will help our country eh! How can anyone bring change into a country with such hatred, bitterness and revenge, how? Make a little place in your heart for the light and love of God; get rid of this dark evil spot in your heart let the light of God guide you ask for his help.IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO BRING CHANGE, INSULTS WILL NOT BRING CHANGE, ONLY LOVE, UNDERSTANDING, KINDNESS CAN, fight when there is a reason to fight, but do not punish the innocent.

    ReplyDelete
  33. And my final say and advice; do not walk into FAR’s footsteps it will only stains your feet as blood are forever penetrating our turf. Do not sow the seeds of hatred like he did; break that dark circle that he created to make us fight against one another.

In two days we will be celebrating a brand New Year; sow the seeds of love, open your heart to the Lord, and let his light in, satisfaction is guaranteed and you will feel lighter. Take time to pause before you speaks and do the right thing, no one can change a country if one’s cannot break their own bad mentality…I know I have been there and I have done that. You will never earn respect if you don’t show respect. Change will have to start with us first, not the country. Do the right thing and you shall earn the people’s love, respect and trust. With that I wish you all a Happy New Year, and may God lighten all of our hearts with his divine love…

  38. I have read the personal attacks. We know where it's roots rest. Our people go hungry ever day. Our people get poorer ever day. Some will now be poorer then their grandparents because of failed leaders in pl. you in snp that attack SPF your leadership is now a bunch fat cats living off the pl system. They see Seychellois suffer, but they too like pl a part of the why. Raise your voice because they remain arrogant a and take comfort in thinking that they have fooled you to keep pl in power. In exchange they enjoy a 20million pension every 10years.

Do not pardon them, for they do not seek pardon. They seek enrichment at the expense of the suffering of the people of Seychelles today. These sell outs around us we see them everyday. Tell them they are sell outs. Tell them to give up the pensions pl gives them. Tell them sesel pou seselwa, and we are not for sale.

When play our people dance in the streets it is true. But it is also true that we dance in the street because we know we have abigail drug problem, big drinking problem, big problem with hopeless corruption, gone out of control,so the last thing we can do is dance in the street.

We are waiting for Rene to call Michel and remind him sesel pou seselwa!'

No person has failed Seychelles so much in such a short time. Yet the impact will be for years.

  42. The situation in Seychelles will either make you cry or give you memories than no mortal, hateful human being would care about.. Ever since I have started reading the post of Mouvman Seselwa Rasin which then change to SFP it has been giving me chills that I wasn't understanding...and that something was hope.

Yes I am responsible for December 30, 2012 12:46 AM, December 30, 2012 1:13 AM, and also December 30, 2012 2:07 AM. To the person who said that this was a personal attack I will advice you to read it again; as it was not my intention to attack anyone. If each time we do something wrong and friends or relative pointed it out in order to be more successful in what we are doing then what is the point? If one's think one's is always right.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hope is gone; there isn't anything left to say if each time one's will be insulted at each time one's pointed out the wrong, or accused for personal attack...If people cannot work as a team, understanding and respect one another Seychelles will remain same dark place like it is now.

    ReplyDelete
  44. respect :> until it is lost
hope :> until confronted with doubts
faith :> until it is tested
trust :> until we are betrayed
truth :> until it turns into lies
then we are faced with these moments of all these confusions either to forgive or not...or to just forgive and forget it ever existed.

  63. South Africa and Seychelles to boost cooperation
January 1, 2013 in Travel Related
(Forimmediaterelease.net) Seychelles and South Africa are set to widen cooperation sectors following a bilateral meeting held today with Mrs. Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, the Minister for International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa to Seychelles, and her delegation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Jean-Paul Adam, and a delegation of government representatives met with Minister Nkoana-Mashabane to discuss broadening the excellent working relationship between the two governments.

“South Africa is Seychelles’ biggest African partner, and we share many mutual interests, not just in terms of the development of our countries but also a shared optimism for a bright future for Africa through our strong bilateral partnership and in our engagement with the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the African Union,” said Minister Adam.

During this session, the two ministers discussed expanding cooperation in the health sector, tourism trade, and investments, as well as in culture and sports, through the sharing of expertise, training for personnel, and deepening dialogue to maximize potential partnerships.

The South African Minister also took this opportunity to thank the government of Seychelles for what she described as a “historic contribution” to the SADC-led Madagascar talks hosted by Seychelles earlier this year and commended Seychelles for the commitment shown to the process, and for the country’s genuine engagement with African affairs.

Other areas of cooperation discussed include educational support through the provision of further scholarships and possible collaboration with the University of Seychelles, and closer collaboration in the area of maritime security in the Indian Ocean, as well as the support of maritime-related industry in the region.

“South Africa is one of our most valued partners, with a wealth of experience to share, not just in traditional development areas but also in the nurturing and preservation of culture and in the use of sports as a liberating force for the youth of a nation and Africa as a whole,” said Minister Adam.

Minister Adam added that he was grateful to South Africa for the friendship and support extended to Seychelles as a true and equal partner despite being the smallest country in Africa.

The South African Minister is expected to call on Seychelles President James Michel at State House the following day.

December 30, 2012 in Travel Related
(Forimmediaterelease.net) A three-person delegation from the Seychelles, headed by the Minister of Health, Mitcy Larue, recently went to Cuba on an official visit. Under the invitation of the Public Health Minister of the republic of Cuba, HE Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda, Minister Larue was accompanied by Dr. Henry Telemaque, Consultant in Charge of Surgery at the Seychelles Hospital, and Mrs. Lalatiana Accouche, a Diplomatic Attache from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During their visit in Cuba, Minister Larue also attended the “2012 Cuba Health Conference on Primary Health Care” where Dr. Telemaque made a presentation on Health Promotion in the Health Sector.

Minister Larue also had discussions with Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda, Public Health Minister, where she thanked Dr. Ojeda for the good cooperation between the two countries. The two ministers also discussed the ongoing bilateral cooperation between Cuba and the Seychelles. The Cuban Minister of Public Health has agreed to consider Seychelles’ request for more specialists in the health field as well as nurses. Dr. Ojeda has also confirmed that a multidisciplinary team from Cuba will also be deployed to Seychelles to study the possibility of setting up an Ophthalmology Center here. A consultant will also be in the country early January to assist with the review of the structure of the Ministry of Health.

During the visit to Cuba, Minister Larue and her delegation also visited many health facilities and institutions and were positively impressed with the Cuban health system.

The Minister also had the opportunity to meet with the 14 medical students currently studying in Cuba. Minister Larue congratulated the students and was very satisfied with their performances, which according to their professors, are doing very well.

The Minister for Health also met with the ex-Cuban Ambassador, Hon. Maria Ida Nogales Jimenez.

  73. The silent revolution inside IMF

    ReplyDelete
  74. The International Monetary Fund, at long last, has begun to open up. Gone are the days when it acted as a handmaiden of Western, mainly US, economic orthodoxy. It is even throwing a gauntlet down to the mighty US Federal Reserve, questioning the effects its constant monetary boosting has had on the rest of the world.

Given that the IMF is the key arbiter on many key issues of global finance and economics, and hence also over global fairness and equity, the change should be greatly welcomed. Over the past decade, the reform debate had centered mainly on giving emerging market economies more voting power, by commensurably reducing the voting shares of the "rich" world.

Given the global economic dynamics, the adjustment was of course long overdue. One clear indication is that the IMF's senior-level staff members have become much less American and less European. But now, the first substantive consequence of these shifts are beginning to emerge.

The frontline of this fight is the IMF's Research Department, where old school guys (yes, mostly guys) and rich country governments battle the new thinkers. Take, for example, the third quantitative easing (QE3) the Fed announced in late 2012. From the American perspective, the big boost in money supply is intended to stimulate economic growth - and therefore job creation - at home.

The extent to which these measures actually achieve that goal continues to be the subject of much controversy even in the US. What is not controversial is that these measures can have a negative impact on emerging market economies. And policymakers there will generally agree that it is important to have a growth-oriented US economy.

But there is growing concern as to whether US authorities are not increasingly poking in the dark with their policy measures. QE3 has mainly boosted the stock market, not the real economy - and even the stock market effect is wearing off.

Either way, emerging market economies are no longer willing to acquiesce. Brazil has stepped forward to lead the defense. That has upset many US policymakers. Perhaps not surprisingly, that has also generated a lot of negative press about Brazil in the US media.

Enter the now more open-minded IMF, as Boston University professor Kevin P. Gallagher has documented, it has issued a whole range of reports that cast a critical eye on the spillover effects that quantitative easing in the US has had on emerging market economies.

The IMF found, for example, that lower interest rates in the US were associated with a higher probability of a drastic increase in capital flow into emerging market economies. And it declared that such increase in capital flows can cause currency appreciation and asset bubbles, which in turn can make exports more expensive and destabilize the emerging market economies' domestic financial systems.

    ReplyDelete
  75. In addition, the IMF is warming up to the view that, in order to fend off these problems, it may well be advisable to use counter-cyclical capital account regulations, as Brazil and South Korea have begun to do. The use of such regulations flies in the face of the old IMF orthodoxy. At the behest of the US Treasury, especially under secretaries of Treasury Robert Rubin and Larry Summers during Bill Clinton's presidency, it preached the "gospel" of unfettered capital market liberalization to the newly emerging economies.

What shines through all these technical-sounding arguments is that the burdens of adjustment are no longer automatically imposed on the recipient countries in the South. The countries in the North, mainly the US, may need to regulate the outflow of capital from their shores.

Powerful new voices, such as Singapore's long-time Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam, who serves as the chairman of the IMF's key Policy Steering Committee, and his Brazilian counterpart Guido Mantega have seen to it that the notion of "global governance" finally gets some real-life meaning.

Global governance reform is about much more than changing voting rights in the IMF's and the World Bank's boards. It concerns a very hands-on process to ensure a fair and equitable share of the burdens of adjustment in the global economy and finance.

The success of this campaign owes much to the fact that the richer countries from the South now act very much as global lenders, too. As a result, it can no longer be said that a bigger role for the emerging market economies would mean putting the borrowers in charge of an institution that ought to be rightfully controlled by the lenders.

The world at large has reason to rejoice in the fact that the IMF is taking off its self-imposed ideological blinders. If the current trend of change continues, and all indications are that it will, it would represent a big step forward for better global governance.

That this is happening in the field of global finance makes it that much more meaningful. It is a key step in reining in an industry that has completely lost its focus on serving the real, not the surreal, economy and whose machinations have proven to have effects similar to nuclear radiation.

You know why Mitzy is killing our babies?Doctors are pulling the heads of babies to force them out even in conditions where a curconsion is needed. In Seychelles doctors do not practice curconsion which is something often practice in western world to exactly avoid death.

Mitzy ,virtually says",when the do not want to come out ,grab them by the heads and pull them out by forced", ending by breaking the neck of our babies.
