If a party has two political parties, one ruling and one opposing, in the context of a Democracy, it is tantamount to an uncle in a home raping an under age child. The only way this will happen is by a complete overhaul of how things run in this counrty. First the electoral process has to undergo a major and meaningful reform in which EVERY Seychellois can exercise his/her fundamental right to vote. This will not happen under the current constitution, but it can happen by mounting pressure from all corners of the planet. This is where SNP has failed; to bring Seychellois together. They can still do it, and I believe that they are taking the right stance by not participating in this election. They should not play Michel's game and get people to rally behind them to bring about the changes that cannot happen without a protests as we have seen in the last year across the globe. The use of social media should be maximize. The reason this tactic needs to be deployed is that for all elections so far, the goverment has abused it's position to influence voters. just to name a few; better job position within the goverment, scholarships, material things, alcohol, envelops of money disbursed to citizens the night before the election, especially on La Digue, by Gregoire Payet.

SPUP, SPPF, and PL, whatever you wanna call it has fucked up this country left, right and center; In November 2008, Seychellois became three times poorer overnight before this stupid reform that was called by the IMF; this goverment has fucked up our education system as they have fucked up our athletes. They closed down private schools in the 80's, built the pseudo-Cuban National Youth Service, the NYS, then closed it down, and then later allowed private school. In sports, they banned sports club, introduced "regionalisation", and now what we have been seeing, is the re-emerging of sports-club. What a fucking waist of time, our money, and consequently people have left for better opportunities elsewhere. Who can deny these facts. And yet people still vote for these mother Fuckers. What the fuck is wrong with us Seychellois.

There has not been any improvement is sports since the late 70's and 80's. Instead we have seen a substantial degradation in the level of sports, but a great improvement in alcoholism, and prosttitution over the last 20 years under this fucked up goverment. They are getting richer while most Seychellois are struglling to make ends meet. Look at Danny Faure, for example, someone who claimed he believed in Communism, and now he is a well-established businessman. All of a sudden, he is a great Capitalist! Talking about redundancy, he should be the first one to go, as this mother fucker does not know the difference between his arm and his ass when it comes to econimics; all his work is being done by Ahmed Afif. So why not kick this mother fucker out and stop abusing tax payers money. Wavel Ramkalawan's case. This is a weak case. The constitution clearly states that the sacked MNA has rights remains an MNA until the Constitutional Court has heard their complaint. But the case will highlight problems with the constitution. But as the rights of the sacked MNA are clearly spelt out in the constitution, I do not think the judges have a right to rewrite the constitution to remove the inherent unfairness. I think she had the right to vote in the two dissolution votes because she was still an MNA, but not if the assembly is reconstituted again.

2. Carpin's case. This is a weak case. The constitution gives the party leader the right to remove proportional MNAs, especially after she has been expelled from the party. Carpin will need to prove that SNP violated it own party procedures in rotating or expelling her. I expect Carpin's sacking to take effect at the time the constitutional court gives its judgement. If the assembly is reconstituted, she won't be back because she would have been rotated out. Carpin had to make this appeal, otherwise her rotation would have taken effect immediately and she would have had no right to vote in the dissolution votes. Having made her appeal, that it is.

3. Prea's case. This is the strongest of the cases. It is the one most likely to succeed, under an independent and fair justice system. Herminie rushed through the dissolution of the assembly within less than 24 hours and had no time to follow proper procedures. The emergency that he invoked is laughable. The courts should make Herminie work within the law. That is what they are there for. There is also the argument whether the motion was indeed a motion to dissolve the assembly.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8974598491515589480.post-2475487120487229132011-08-30T14:04:31.466+04:002011-08-30T14:04:31.466+04:00It is quite obvious that MONEY seems to be at the ...It is quite obvious that MONEY seems to be at the root of the present difficulties of the SNP. If Ramkalawan had stayed the course and had not negotiated a hefty pay package and salary in 2008, maybe the others wld not have done the same thing now.
