In a
spectacular layout in Rising Sun, Saturday, August 25th, 2012, Dr.
Ramadoss has a picture of himself, that takes a quarter page, plus three (3)
additional photos on the same page and the next page and the Editor of the
paper interviews him on his resignation as: (1. a member of PL and (2. resignation as a member
of the PL Central Committee.
Wow, all that
in one sentence.
This resignation
now made public, has been the source of much speculation throughout the
Seychelles Islands.
Dr.
Ramadoss, once a Indian national army doctor
for Rene and Michel, has established himself as Chairman of the Seychelles
Chamber of Commerce when he unseat long time Chairman Mr. Albert Payet and
Louis D’offay in one election, in a bizarre election practice that evolved
around amassing the most possible proxies from companies, some apparently, were,
shelf companies, we believe.
Conflict of Interest
Dr. Ramadoss
says in the interview, that he acknowledges there is a conflict of interest in
being Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and cc member, of the PL . That may
well be true, but Mr. Ramadoss never let conflict of interest bother him in the
past, and this point does not explain his resignation as a member of PL.
Dr. Ramadoss
does not say he was forced to resign or asked to resign.
Dr. Ramadoss
says he wants to build the Seychelles economy and he says this is why he took a
number of stance on this issue recently. He must be referring the tuna fishing
licenses and the 60% catch in Seychelles waters, that finds its way in Mauritius
for processing based on some key contracts and licenses signed by SFA.
Dr. Ramadoss
has been in a bit of a spat on this for some time in Rising Sun. Certainly, he
knew about Mr. Savy’s involvement at SFA in negotiating fishing rights licenses
when he became a member of the PL cc.
This is
fairly common knowledge in Seychelles, and not exactly, a new discovery, since
we have all seen Mr. Savy signing off the contracts on SBC for years.
Dr. Ramadoss
candidly admits, the party did not share his views.
The Chamber Boss
Dr. Ramadoss
says he is still the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and he is still
focused on the national economy, which he says is underperforming.
The real
question for Dr. Ramadoss is for how many years has he been the Chairman of the
Chamber? Was not the Seychelles national economy suffering during those years?
Was not SFA
issuing licenses out to fishing fleets, and catch finding its way back to
Mauritius during those years? He did not know that this program was in play
back then?
Today, he
does, of course.
It is worth
noting, that Dr. Ramadoss declares in the interview, that he knows the country
has a debt repayment to undergo soon. Until now, Seychelles debts have been
deferred.
Strong Rupee Ideas without a Viable
Formula
Dr. Ramadoss
says he is convinced that a strong rupee is possible, and 8.0 – 1.0 against the
US Dollar. However, he does not say how this will be achieved, aside from
imploring the public to bank in Seychelles.
But Dr.
Ramadoss, we ask you, is it not the party that you just left that has had a
national economy based on financial capital flight for years?
The basis of
this assertion rest with the confirmation of the SWISS NATIONAL BANK that $2.1
BILLION US DOLLARS has been deposited into their bank accounts by CITIZENS of
Seychelles. Additionally, this is confirmed by the IMF as well, that $2.5
Billion has left Seychelles banks for overseas accounts.
Being a
person of high profile, member of the cc of PL, Dr. Ramadoss should have a good
idea, who has been engaging in capital flight and money laundering in
Seychelles all these years. Of course, Dr. Ramadoss claims to not have all the
answers, but, together, he says, the plight of the national economy can be
addressed. If the national economy is to be fixed as he promises, he will have
to let us know, what he knows on money laundering Seychelles, if anything.
Surely, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, knows what money laundering is
and how it hurts a national economy.
Appeal For Business To Be More Active
Dr. Ramadoss
ask members of the Chamber to become more active, and their voice will be heard
on the Economic Council. A fine invitation, which many will take up, once Dr.
Ramadoss himself, will resign from the chairmanship of the Chamber, in
recognition of the multitude of conflict of interests, which he openly admits
too in his Rising Sun interview, that he has brought upon the Chamber of
Commerce, all by himself through his political affiliation with the PL ruling
party.
Drop Mont Fleuri
Since Dr. Ramadoss
is no longer the cc member of Mont Fleuri, he has advised that he will not be
dealing with requests on that level. The ambulance deal is off.
In Closing
Dr. Ramadoss
says he does not stash money oversees. He dreams of Seychelles having a $1
Billion reserve, and he says we can achieve this if we learn from our mistakes.
Well to
raise the reserves as suggested by the good Dr., we can start by taxing the
amusement gaming industry by 500% per intake of revenue per day, monitored
daily, and collected daily, by the Revenue Commission. That will make us proud,
and Dr. Ramadoss will be proud as well; since our reserves will reach $1
Billion, in no time at all, I am most certain.
May God Bless All Freedom Loving
Seychellois!
