Peaceful Protest by Chinese Workers ( Could have turned violent due the mishandling by the Commissioner himself and lackeys )
Foreigners Protest in Front of State House
Yesterday, in a heavy rain a group of about 50 Yangtze China State Construction workers gathered before the gates of State House in Seychelles to protest .
There main gripe was that they had not been paid by Yangtze construction. This company is laying pipes to La Gogue Dam under contract from PRC government.
The workers were met with Gurhkas who seemed to be protecting them from the SSU unit, a Seychellois riot force. The Police intervened and the Minister Internal Affairs turned up with a red JJ Spirit umbrella. As he spoke, someone held the umbrella.
If any Seychellois would have protested in front of State House, they would have been beaten and tear gas. Then they would have been charged with a crime in violation of the Public Order Act which prevents even Three (3) persons from joining together in Public, without the permission of the Police, not dissimilar from South Africa Apartheid laws on Public Assembly.
