The Charita Drug Seizure Case Goes Supernova

The release of Michael Joseph Hoareau has become the talk of the town and envy to many in Seychelles. Following the promise made by James Alix Michel through his state of the nation address when he claimed that his war on illegal drugs had intensify to even house those responsible on Marie Louise Island and Coetivy.

Apparently doctor Michel; James Alix Michel had not watched the movie “Law Abiding Citizen”. The moral of that movie was to always do the job clean and never make deals with criminals, as they can come back to bite you in the butt.

What happened in Seychelles by the attorney general’s office can be considered as a nice legal move gone wrong or misrepresented. All this puts in question again on our judiciary and legal system and its functions. The AG Ronny should have allowed a conviction to take place before even presenting an offer to the first accused as in order to make a deal there needs to be beyond reasonable doubt that the trade or bargain is more than vital to a case or means for a conviction.

I would have understood if the AG claimed that he made such a move to assist not with the ongoing internal case butt to assist the country and the Interpol in apprehending the source of the drugs as the first accused is the only one placed in a position to divulge such information. Either way from his interview on SBC this has not been the case. Instead the AG has openly asked accused and detainees to make deals with his office in return for a before verdict. If the AG is providing verdicts before a trial is even properly heard than the point of “Innocent Till Proven Guilty” does not exist in Seychelles.

The racket between Volcere and Lawyer Basil Hoareau was a disgust for many because of the deal between the AG. Many allegations goes to suggest that hoareau insulted Volcere telling him that he did not and still has not gotten what it takes to had have become a lawyer further insults were said to have come from hoareau.

Minutes after this confrontation between what used to be two buddy old pal seen drinking at board walk, tequila boom in the past became a foiret noire and battle field. More deep allegations around town started to disclose reasons why would a lawyer such as hoareau suddenly change by representing a lot of government friendly or questioned individual’s political wise.

Out of all this I was tipped off on a case where someone was arrested at the airport transferring money to Mauritius without forking a single scent of tax to government. The cash is said to have had come from land sales excluding the stamp duties. This is a case I am investigating clearly whether it has something to do with this issue i will find out.

What happens to the faith of the individuals that where merely picked up on the boat after placed on an island salting fish? Maybe the AG can tell the public before any judge can make a ruling as he did for michael hoareau! I took the liberty to send a copy of the weekly and the interview of the AG by sbc to unhcr and even bars association of small island states involved with the blue economy to be viewed and analyzed I am waiting on their version and conclusion to load.
