The National Assembly elections are fast coming up. People of Seychelles need to reflect seriously of what they are being asked to do on the Party Political Broadcasts (PPB) every night. A National Assembly, in a democracy is a serious matter. Representatives hold the duty of hard work and smart thinking to navigate a country through difficult times and insure prosperity for the people of a country. In Seychelles, we have seen for many years, a National Assembly is a rubber stamp, with the communist party rubber stamping their way through a process, that looks good with the new buildings and fancy leather chairs, but in reality, we have been in a one party state set up for many years already.
If we are in a one party state, how can we take these Party Political Broadcast (PPB) seriously? We cannot. They are just one big joke on the People of Seychelles. As Seychelles goes through a severe economic and financial downturn and our lives get tough, tougher and tougher again, many of us will suffer, lose homes, cars, and many of us will not be able to feed our children, pay our electricity bills, and put food on a table. Will these people in the PPB help us with sound leadership? No. They hardly appear to be even capable of sorting their own lives. It appears to me, they are all looking out for themselves and trying to get what they can for themselves. Many need a second income to survive like us all. I see no one in the communist PPB or in the ZEEDA PPB that is looking out for Seychelles.
In these PPB's, James Michel the Head of State, openly tells us he will control these MNA candidates and they will work under him. State resources is used in the PPB. This is a gross violation of the principle of Separation of Powers that must be respected in a Democracy. In the National Day speech, Mr. Michel told us on June 18th, 2011, that he: 1. wanted a serious opposition, 2. he would replace the existing one.
If we are in a Democracy, how can a sitting president, replace an opposition? This is a serious question, Michel must answer. Is this not the decision of the People who represents them? Fielding a fake opposition is not Democracy in practice. It is One Party State at work.
Panic Sets In
We have seen the panic set in when the fielded opposition party was not accepted by the opposition or the general public well. It was as if a grand plan that had been stoked, for months and months, just back fired over night. Suddenly, the Communists PPB's themselves were saying:" BOYCOTT opposition!" Some PPB even said, vote for the PDM so we do not go into one party state. They even did a song that says that. If you are already in one party state, that would make PDM a one party state opposition is it not? The whole exercise has been an exercise in panic. In the panic, they seem to have taken people in the country for fools.
Don't Panic Communists- RELAX with Change
As this panic sets in, the communists generally start offering people money to relax their nerves. This time, money will not work. So keep it, pay off some debts you seem to be leaving unpaid. We want Democracy and we want the Freedom's that F.A. Rene promised us on November 1991, to all Seychellois, in and outside of Seychelles, to be respected 100%, by the James Alix Michel Administration, who has taken us back to the One Party State in practice, beyond belief, in my opinion. At times I ask, how can a sane man do this?
How To Relax With Change?
After these fake elections are over with, breathe in and breathe out communists. Take a good look at yourselves. Take a good look at the Seychelles National Bankruptcy graph, and say to yourselves: "in order to remove the country out of BANKRUPTCY, we need DEMOCRACY and FREEDOM to reign, so we can get back to Nation building, and not crony -enriching". Once you have done that, call a Round Table of all parties, to sort out the One Party state laws you made us live under now for Eighteen (18) years.
After the new laws are passed by your One Party state assembly, which could or may not have David Pierre in it, quickly dissolve the shameful Assembly, and call for new elections to sort out the mess you created all by yourselves, because you spent too much time at the Ferrari Abu Dhabi Grand Prix theme park and not enough time at home, to the point..........., you lost...... touch....... with REALITY!
This is what you do, to get out the mess,........... you are in. What a mess it has become!
In the meantime, all Seychellois must stand up against the communist and BOYCOTT fake National Assembly Elections! If you must go vote out of fear of victimization, simply spoil your vote by making 3 ticks on it. One tick- NO TO ONE PARTY STATE! Second Tick- Yes Democracy! Third Tick- Yes to Freedom!
Caveat To Communists!
If half of the registered voters, do not vote, then Mr. Ralph Volcere will be right.........you will have a people power revolution on your hands and very likely in the streets!
Don't say I did not warn you. If you arrest me, you will not arrest my pen. Trust me, the ink will flow.
Boycott National Assembly Elections!
Sesel Pou Seselwa!
